Facebook

Publish to any Facebook Page you admin through myHERALD. One OAuth click discovers every Page on your account, and you choose which ones the Publisher agent is allowed to post to. Single posts, photo posts, multi-image posts, and video posts are all supported.

Before you start

  • A Facebook account that admins at least one Facebook Page. Personal-timeline posting is not available — Meta restricts API publishing to Pages.
  • You should be signed into the Facebook account that owns the Page(s) in the same browser before clicking Connect.

Connect it

  1. Open Settings → Integrations and find the Facebook card.
  2. Click Connect. Meta's Facebook Login for Business screens open in a new tab.
  3. Screen 1 — Seiten / Pages: tick the Page(s) you want myHERALD to publish to.
  4. Screen 2 — Instagram-Konten: if any Instagram Business / Creator account is linked to one of those Pages, tick it here (otherwise Meta skips this screen). This is what lets myHERALD publish to your Instagram in the same flow.
  5. Screen 3 — Unternehmen / Business Portfolio: tick the Business Portfolio that owns those Pages. This step is required even though it looks optional — see the warning below.
  6. Approve the publishing permissions on the final review screen.
  7. You'll return to myHERALD with the card showing a Connected badge and your Facebook name.

Choose which Pages publish

After connecting, the Facebook card lists every Page you admin. Each Page has a toggle — flip it off to keep that Page connected but excluded from publishing. Useful if you manage a personal test Page alongside a client Page and don't want drafts going to the wrong place.

What you can do

  • Text posts to any enabled Page.
  • Single-photo posts with a caption.
  • Multi-image posts (up to 10 photos in a single post).
  • Video posts (uploaded to the Page's video library).
  • Schedule through myHERALD's queue down to the minute.

How tokens are refreshed

Meta issues 60-day long-lived tokens. myHERALD auto-refreshes when the token is within 7 days of expiry — you should never need to reconnect under normal use. If you change your Facebook password or revoke the app from Meta's side, the token invalidates and the card shows a Reconnect banner.

Troubleshooting

No Pages appear after connecting. The Facebook account you authorized doesn't admin any Pages, or you declined Page access during the OAuth screen. Disconnect, then reconnect and make sure to select at least one Page when prompted.

Publish fails with "Page Token expired". Auto-refresh failed (typically because you revoked the app or the underlying user token aged out beyond the 7-day buffer). Click the Reconnect banner on the Facebook card to re-authorize — no scheduled drafts are lost.

I want to post to a different Page. Open the Facebook card and toggle the right Page on. If the Page you want isn't listed, you don't admin it on the connected account — log into Facebook with the account that does, then reconnect.

Disconnect

Open the kebab menu on the Facebook card and pick Disconnect. myHERALD revokes its token and stops publishing. To remove access from Meta's side, also visit facebook.com → Settings → Apps and Websites and remove myHERALD there.
