Working with HERALD

Chat

Chat is the main way you work with HERALD. It is a conversation, not a form. Ask for a single post, a week of content, a research report, a campaign plan, a rewrite of an old post, or just a list of topic angles to consider. HERALD figures out which kind of job it is and runs the right steps.

Activity in chat

While HERALD works, the transcript shows activity badges for each step it takes. The badges use clean, human-readable names and consistent per-tool colors. Internal plumbing steps are hidden so you only see what matters. The badges look and behave the same whether the chat is live or reloaded from history.

The context bar above the composer also shows an Unread Comments chip when there are replies waiting on your posts. Click it to go to the Comments Inbox.

To interrupt HERALD, click Stop. It cancels the reply that is running, also when you sent a new message while HERALD was still working. If your connection drops mid-reply, the chat reloads the answer from history instead of starting it again.

Teaching rules in chat

Tell HERALD how to write from now on, for example “From now on, never start a post with a question.” HERALD asks you to confirm, then saves it as a learned rule that applies to every future draft. If the rule contradicts one of your skills, HERALD shows the change it would make to that skill and only saves it after you agree. See Memory and learned rules.

Getting better results out of chat

  • Name the goal, not the words. “Explain why we moved off webhook polling” is better than “write 200 words about webhooks.”
  • Name the voice. Founder, analytical, playful, dry. Or reference one of your Skills by name.
  • Attach before you ask. Drag any file into the composer and HERALD uses it as context for the session. PDFs, transcripts, screenshots, spreadsheets all work.
  • Dictate if you are on the move. Click the mic and speak the brief.

Example briefs that land well

Example 1

  • YOU: Plan next week's LinkedIn. Three posts, mix of thought leadership and one product mention. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday.
  • HERALD: Drafts a plan, pulls three angles from your Knowledge Hub, produces three drafts, and drops them into Pending scheduled for the dates you asked for.

Example 2

  • YOU: Take last Tuesday's LinkedIn post and re-tone it. Less corporate, more honest. Same length.
  • HERALD: Re-tones the piece using your Brand voice skill, strips anything that reads as promotional, and hands you the new draft in under a minute.
