Review

Every draft lands in Pending and waits for you. Click any card to open the review page.

Inline editing

The review page is a structured editor, not just a text box. You can:

• Edit the title inline by clicking it.
• Change platform, content type, and tags via chip pickers at the top of the item, without opening a separate settings page.
• Change the posting destination (for example, which LinkedIn profile or which account on a supported platform) via a destination picker right on the page. When a platform has more than one connected account, pick which one to publish to. HERALD will not publish to an ambiguous destination, so a post never goes to the wrong account by accident.
• Edit the body in the rich-text editor (see below).
• Edit the “Why” rationale that HERALD wrote alongside the draft. This field is part of the item's memory: HERALD reads it on future runs when deciding how to approach similar content. Correcting it is one of the fastest ways to steer output.

Published and archived items are read-only. All editable fields are locked once an item leaves the Approved state.

Rich-text editor and Preview toggle

The body editor has an 11-button toolbar: bold, italic, strikethrough, H1, H2, H3, bullet list, numbered list, blockquote, insert link, and unlink. A Preview toggle switches the editor to a read-only view that shows the exact plain text that will publish on platforms that strip formatting (LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, and similar). Destinations that support rich formatting, such as WordPress or the blog, render the styled version instead.

Character limits

As you edit, a live counter under the body shows how long the post is against the destination platform's limit, for example 280 characters on X, 500 on Threads, and 300 graphemes on Bluesky. Go over and the counter turns red with a note that the post will be rejected at publish until you shorten it. The count reflects the exact text that will publish, so formatting that a platform strips out never inflates it.

First comment

A dedicated First comment field sits below the post body. It is separate from the main text and is where follow-up links, sources, or “full article” CTAs belong, so they stay out of the post itself.

• Add or edit the first comment at any time before publish.
• A copy button lets you grab the text instantly.
• A live character count updates as you type.
• Once published, the field locks alongside the rest of the item.

Turn on the Auto-post toggle and HERALD posts the first comment automatically as a reply right after publishing, on supported platforms. A status line below the toggle confirms whether the comment posted successfully.

Engagement on published items

Published items show a compact engagement strip directly on the review page: impressions, likes, comments, reposts, and engagement rate. The comment count is a live link: clicking it opens the comment thread so you can read and reply without leaving the page. See Inbox for the full conversation view.

HERALD learns from your edits

When you edit a draft before approving it, HERALD compares your approved version against its own draft. If the change is material (a rewritten hook, a shortened intro, a removed bullet), it records what shifted and applies that preference to future drafts automatically. You do not need to write a feedback note for the lesson to land.

Review list rows

In the list of pending drafts, each row is richer than a plain title:

• A preview thumbnail on the left, with a play overlay for video items and a +N badge for posts with multiple images.
• A campaign chip when the item belongs to a campaign, linking back to the campaign detail page.
• On hover, a one-click Approve action and an Edit shortcut so you can clear the queue without opening every item individually.

Above the list, a search box and filter chips help you cut a long queue down fast. Search matches across the title, body, and the “Why” rationale, and the chips narrow by platform, content type, and tags. It mirrors the filters on the Pipeline board, so the two views behave the same.

Single-post rule

HERALD writes exactly one self-contained post per item, plus at most one first-comment reply. It does not produce multi-post threads or numbered series from a single item.

Four things you can do with a draft:

• Approve and publish. Ship now, or schedule. HERALD publishes through your connected account and saves the live URL on the card.
• Edit inline. Use the structured editor above. All changes are versioned.
• Send back with feedback. Pick a reason (tone, facts, off-brand, format, phrasing) and leave a short note. HERALD produces a new version with that feedback baked in.
• Reject. Kills the draft. Your feedback still gets logged, so the same issue does not come back.
